The Blue Island Oyster festival generates funds to donate to environmental projects and education programs set up to protect the Great South Bay.

  • What happens with festival proceeds?
    • In 2024 we were able to donate $15,000 to the Long Island Oyster Growers Association non-profit to promote RESTORATIVE AQUACULTURE that lead the way for them to receive an additional $100,000 donation from the Seahorse Foundation.
    • We distributed $2,000 in scholarships in June 2025 to qualified graduating high school seniors. That makes $9,280 in scholarship funds dispersed to date!
    • Thousands of dollars have been made in donations to other environmental non-profits over the years, like Save the Great South Bay, who’s goals align with protecting Long Island waters for future generations.
